Purpose and Scope

The Diemaker is responsible for the efficient completion of trim tool building and finishing, making and maintaining of die sets, punches, dies, and a variety of additional machining operation necessary to support production. This position is on our FIRST shift Mon-Fri

Detailed Duties

  • Operate vertical CNC milling machines.
  • Wire EDM, surface grinders, drill press, lathe.
  • Produce quality work with tight tolerances including punches, dies, fixtures, etc.
  • Ability to program CNC machines and wire EDM is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of heat treating of steel punches and dies.
  • Troubleshoot and fix tooling issues as needed.
  • Works closely with design engineers and production operators to ensure new and existing tooling is running efficiently.
  • Journeyman card in tool and die preferred, but not required

Educational Requirements

A two year diploma / degree in tool and die or machine tool technics is highly preferred.

Experience Requirements

An ideal candidate would have a background as a machinist in creating large scale die sets for thermoforming applications. Without that specific skill set, broad based experience with metal stamping dies will be beneficial.
